My Story

First of all I want to give thanks to God. I became homeless by losing my job due to the company I was working for not being able to get a certain type of insurance they needed for me to be employed with them. I was laid off and because of the economy I was unable to find any other employment.

I came to the program to join my family, who were already residing in The Shepherd’s Way. I had just graduated my drug rehab program and was granted permission to enter into The Shepherd’s Way program. I also asked to have random drug screens done to help me stay sober. When I came, they described the rules to me and told me everything that the program offered. I was very pleased and grateful for everything that was brought to the table.

Through God’s grace and with the help of my caseworker I started back at school in a Culinary Arts program. I will be a major success with the skills I have gained and I have a future so bright, to God be the glory that I know God has a home for me that I will be able to afford with my new career as a chef. Thank you Father God and the Shepherd’s Way.
