Crisis Housing

Fia_1Partnering with over 45 Churches in our community, our Faith In Action program serves as emergency overnight shelter for those families who would otherwise be forced to sleep in their car or on the street.

In close partnership with 211 Broward-The Homeless Helpline (211 or 954.563.4357), families are first screened and prioritized according to need. This prioritized wait-list is shared daily with HOPE South Florida case management and appropriate families are screened, assessed and accepted.

Annually, over 150 single mothers and 300 children found HOPE, housing, and community as they walked through the welcoming doors of our Faith In Action program.

Living in their car or on the street is no longer their reality. They found HOPE because somebody gave HOPE. However, our community’s waiting list still averages 150 families a month – there is still so much work to do.

HOPE South Florida also partners with churches that have or sponsor homes that they use as Crisis Housing:

Hollywood House

The Hollywood HOPE House is a partnership with Hollywood Community Church, NatBank, and the United Way of Broward County. In partnership with Hollywood Community Church,  2-4 single mothers are provided with crisis housing and family support. In partnership with the United Way/Mission United, the house also ensures that veteran families are provided with immediate housing.
